missingWrote a review on 27 Julstunning groundscozy retreathistorical venuetired decor
Stunning historical venue with beautiful grounds ideal for wandering. The Giffard Suite offers a cozy retreat, blending old-world charm with modern comfort, although opinions vary on the extension’s aesthetics.
The decor in many areas feels tired, especially the corridors leading to the annex rooms, which sport a worn carpet that has seen better days. Issues like condensation in the double-glazed windows and poorly finished paintwork detract from the experience. The bathroom had maintenance oversights, like taps missing parts and a marked bathroom door. Breakfast service lacked organization, with several hot items running out and slow replenishment. There's a caution about navigating long walks to some rooms, especially if you’re dragging bags. If you’re picky about aesthetics and upkeep, manage your expectations.
